The Council of Islamic Guidance has the following Board of Governors ensuring that the management performs it's duties according to the constitution.
Moulana Syed Zaki Baqri came to Toronto in 1982 and is the founding member of The Council of Islamic Guidance. He was born in Ali Pur, India and went to Qumm, Iran for his religious education. His contribution and services to the local and overall shia community are countless. He travels world wide spreading the name of Islam.
Syed Mohamed Raza Rizvi came to Ottawa in 1978, moved to Toronto in 1981 and has been an active member of the GTA community since. He was served as president of The Council for 1999-2003 sessions. He was born in Karachi, Pakistan in August 1955, graduated from Karachi University in 1974 and received his commercial pilot license in 1981 from Toronto, Canada. He brings a lot of Management and sales experience to The Council. He is currently working for Davidson & Chrysler Doge, Inc in Toronto as leasing manager and splits rest of his time in raising 3 kids and serving as an executive at Al Mahdi Center.
