Inna Lillahe wa Inna Ilaihe Rajeoon
It is with great sadness and a heavy heart that we extend our deepest condolences to you all, on the passing of our beloved brother and dear scholar, Maulana Syed Asad Jafri. The loss of such a learned, caring and eminent scholar has undoubtedly left an irreparable void in many of our hearts today, across communities worldwide. As one of the core pillars and role models for our Shia community in North America and globally, the legacy and impact that he has left behind will never be forgotten.
Maulana Asad Jafri was a beacon of knowledge, a passionate speaker who dedicated his life in pursuit of guiding and educating our Ummah. From children, to youth, adults and the elderly, there was not a single generation untouched who was not impacted by the words, actions and teachings of Maulana Asad. Bringing us all closer to the Ahlulbayt (as) through his inspirational lectures, meaningful discussions, and community-wide events, Maulana Asad Jafri was a part of many of the key memories we as a community hold today. As an integral part of the As-Sadiq Islamic School at Jaffari Community Centre and one of our own here at Al Mahdi’s Darul Quran and Mahdi Youth Society, he has made invaluable contributions to all our communities within his short stay in this world
For many communities he was known as Maulana Syed Asad Jaffari, to our CIG community and many of the youth in specific he was known as, and will always be their “Asad Bhai”. The passing of someone as respected and admired as him, has undoubtedly left many of us in a state of shock and profound grief. During this time of mourning, it is crucial that we come together as a community to support one another and offer solace to those deeply affected by this loss.
Maulana Asad Jafri’s departure has created a void in our hearts, but he has also left us with many memories to cherish. The time he spent with our community, with his relentless efforts to bring us closer to the Ahlulbayt(as) will not go unforgotten, his legacy and impact will continue to inspire young scholars, youth and shia communities worldwide. In honor of his memory, it is our duty as a community to embrace and embody the actions of his teachings by continuing to reflect upon his lectures and guidance.
As a community, we send our heartfelt condolences to his family at this time. To his wife Sr. Zehra Baqri, his children Misbah, Rahma and Hassan, his mother Zehra aunty, and his siblings Sr. Shahana, and Br. Ali & Abbas Jafri – our thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time, as we continue to pray for Allah to grant him the highest place in Jannah, Inshallah.
To Maulana Zaki Baqri and his entire family, our community sends their heartfelt condolences. Your loss is also our loss, may we all be united during this time of immense grief for many as we lost an integral and irreplaceable member of the CIG family.
May Allah give us all Sabr and grant Asad bhai the highest level of Jannah, Ameen.
